I have had two -- not one, but two -- manuscripts accepted by a literary agency!!! One is a children''s picture book (fiction) and the other is a non-fiction book that studies the issue of true belief in Christ. I have already signed the contracts for both books and am waiting to be assigned to my personal agent.

I''ve posted an excerpt from my children''s book. Hope you like it, but if you want to know what happens next, you''ll have to buy the book!

I dreamed I found a kangaroo

     Not any taller than my shoe.

I put her in my goldfish bowl

     (My goldfish died, bless his poor soul),

And for a lid I used a screen

     That I knew better days had seen.

That screen did somewhat wibble-wob,

     But I thought it would do the job.

I dreamed I left to go to school;

     Rode with a neighbor–we "car pool"–

And all day long my mind did roam

     To the fun I'd have when I got home.

Instead of spelling and math, I thought

     Of all the tricks that might be taught

To a wonderful little kangaroo.

     Why, we'd be famous when I got though!

I dreamed when my school day was done

     And all the car pool route was run,

I took our stair steps two by two,

     Eager to make friends with my 'roo.

I barreled down the hall, ka-zoom,

     And skidded–screech–into my room

And saw–I thought my heart would stop–

     That fish bowl had no screen on top!
