Last month, I decided to write a letter to the Duchess of Cambridge about the launch of my book and being an Olympic Torchbearer. It was a long shot, I realised this, and to be frank, I wasn't expecting a letter in reply. I was doubtful that my letter would even be read by the popular, in-demand Duchess. So imagine my surprise, my bemusement, my complete and utter shock when the envelope with the infamous ER stamp dropped through my letterbox. Yes, that's right, my dream had come true, ladies and gentleman; my favourite monarch had replied to my letter to her!

I am sitting on the cusp of cloud nine as I type this! It's only a modest piece of paper I've received in this infamous envelope, containing a few carefully selected words, but to think that my book has been in the hands of the Duchess of Cambridge - to think that Kate Middleton has held Kindling to Inferno. Wow, I tell you, life doesn't get much grander than this people!

I suppose this is one of the perks of being a young author!
