I am proud to announce that I have corrected the spelling errors and, I hope, helped to further clarify my novel, Shadows Walking, about Nazi medical practices and the Holocaust. It is now available as both a paper-back and as a Kindle eBook through www.Amazon.com .
Both versions also include, thanks to the requests of many readers, a compiled version, at the end of the novel, of Johann Brenner’s “letter to Helga,” his estranged wife, a segment of which begins each chapter after they have met in a church in Nuremberg in 1946. Working as a janitor while the “Nazi Doctors’ Trial” is underway, his letter “explains,” as best he could, why he became a “Nazi doctor” and did, at Auschwitz and elsewhere, what Nazi doctors did. As such, he willingly committed "crimes against humanity," as the attorneys for the prosecution successfully argued in a series of trials of high-ranking, captured Nazis in Nuremberg in 1946. Both versions also contain Tom Moran’s brilliant “Foreword,” helping to acquaint the reader with “the Holocaust in its historical context,” and my own essay, “Why I wrote Shadows Walking."
The eBook version now has “live links” to the seventy “PDF” essays that I have written--for example, on “Adolf Hitler,” “Josef Mengele,” the “SS,” “Nuremberg,” “Nazi Doctors’ Trial,” “Jews in Germany,” etc.--about ‘the persons, places, incidents and circumstances’ around which Shadows Walking is woven. These “live links” can be found the first time that a ‘name, place, incident or circumstance’ is noted in the “Foreword” or in the pages of Shadows Walking. By clicking on your computer’s mouse while reading a down-loaded copy on your computer or tapping on your electronic touch-screen of your eBook reader or any other suitable device, thanks to the “magic” of the Internet, you can go directly to any one of my PDFs.
I have also lowered the cost of each version. The paper-back version from amazon.com now costs $14.38; the Kindle eBook version now costs $3.50.
