A year ago, I spoke to the North Duffield and Skipwith luncheon group and for some reason they asked me back. So that's where I've been today, armed with my new talk, entitled 'Stethoscope Secrets.'
I was sooooo nervous, entirely due to the new talk as they are, without doubt the most welcoming of groups and there was no requirement to eat lunch with them first, just enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit after I'd finished.
Will it be long enough? Will they laugh? Where they're meant to laugh, I mean by that....Will it be as well received as my first talk.
It seemed to be a success, lasting the requisite 45 minutes and the laughter was warm and generous, especially the story about the consultant climbing out of the window. If you want to know more, then you'll just have to come to one of my talks!
And relax! Now I feel exhausted, probably mainly due to no lunch as I was too nervous to eat.
Now it's only three weeks to the book signing, so we are on our starting blocks to publicise this as much as we can. I am already anxious and worrying......
