Meredith Campbell to publish non-fiction paper she gave at the 9th Symposium on 19th Century Newspapers, the Civil War, and Freedom of Speech, presented at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, Nov. 8-10, 2001.
Invited by the chair of Communications and Media at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, Meredith Campbell read her paper, SNAGGLE TOOTH JONES, MACE'S HOLE, AND CONFEDERATES IN COLORADO, at the 9th Symposium on the 19th Century Newspapers, the Civil War, and Freedom of Speech, held November 8-10, 2001.
The paper will be published by the University of Tennessee Press, Knoxville and Chattanooga, in an anthology. Over 30 historians and journalists participated in the symposium that is held each year. A joint committee drawn from the departments of History and Journalism
select from submissions those papers to be read.
Submissions are invited from anyone interested and knowlegeable about issues of historical journalism.
