Just in time for Halloween, A Troll’s Phantasmagoria, by Ronald J. Willis, has just become available as a Kindle E-book. The novel’s genre has been described as speculative, paranormal, magical realism, slipstream, and visionary. It includes allusions to death, Fortean (aka unknown) phenomena, Lovecraftian lore, mysticism and various religions and spiritual paths. Its language and writing style range from racy to poetically profound. Ronald J. Willis, was founder of the International Fortean Organization (INFO). The book is published posthumously by Open Sea Press. Set in the early 1970s, when it was written, many of its themes still resonate today. Its weird and wacky characters include Garn, a troll of the Scandinavian sort; his close friend Lucy, A PhD-holding prostitute and expert in ancient languages and Magwich, a scholar in Brooklyn with a connection to a secret society of statisticians. Distributed by Ingram,the print version of A Troll’s Phantasmagoria continues to be available from many online booksellers in the U.S. and many other countries, as well as through brick-and-mortar stores.
