Riesenberg Fisler was looking for a way to keep readers interested in her characters as she writes the sequel to her award winning debut novel Blind Influence. She is bloging on her book website and it isn't a typical blog of what she is up to. It's is a blog dedicated to her characters, making them even more life like than they are in the book.
Riesenberg Fisler is bloging a diary that Nicole Charbonneau is keeping in 1964. Sean Adkins, the dashing but troubled MI-6 agent and Senator Robert Jenkins are journaling as well.
Nicole's Diary this week is following the "Mississippi Burning" case, which involved the murders of three civil rights workers near Meridan, Mississippi. This is Nicole's first week at her first job in the US Attorney's Office and you get to peek into the affair from Nicole's point of view. To read this blog, Click here
We also learn that Sean has just left his training with SIS and is linked up with a Basque terrorist who has been summoned by what will eventually become a faction of the IRA. Jenkins is on his way to Vietnam.
The readers of these blogs get to know the characters thoughts as events from 1964 happen. "The interesting thing is that I can find in history something that is happening today which, to me, makes it and Blind Influence even more relevant." Riesenberg Fisler said. "It also makes me wonder if we'll ever learn from our mistakes."
