Cold Serial: The Jack the Strangler Murders was featured in this year's JCC Book Festival. It took the form of a bus tour reenactment of the last hours of the victims of the serial killer.
What began as an invitation to speak about my book ended up in a reenactment of the last days of these girls. Scott Stoney, a well known local actor, David Greer, nationally known attorney, historian, author and musician and I adopted a Ken Burns approach. David was the historian, Scott was the active, live voice, and I was the narrator. Scott dressed as a newsboy of the times and read news headlines and accounts. One bus load became two. Reviews were exceptional, enjoyed by all. We ended up at the Warped Wing brewery to sign books and discuss the events of the day. It was a very moving day and paid tribute to the lives of the girls.
