I will be attending and will have copies of my book, Stop Procrastinating - Get Published!, for sale.
Wake County Public Libraries want to support our local writers. To that end, we are planning our second annual celebration of local authors, called “Authors in Our Backyard”, and we invite you to register for this popular event.
The event is open to published and unpublished authors, and to the public.
The celebration will be on Saturday, April 23, at the Cameron Village Regional Library at 1930 Clark Avenue in Raleigh. Because last year’s program was so popular, we are offering two identical sessions—one in the morning from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, and another in the afternoon from 3:00PM – 5:00PM.
You will also be asked how many guests you plan to bring, with the maximum being two guests. If you attended last year’s program, then you know that it was very crowded, and that many people had to stand. To help with overcrowding and to allow as many authors as possible to attend, we are asking you to limit your invitees to no more than two.
Each session will begin with a keynote address by 2016 Piedmont Laureate author Katy Munger, followed by readings by ten attendees (to be determined by a random drawing). After the readings, there will be time to mix and mingle with other attendees while enjoying light refreshments. You are welcome to sell your books at this event, although the focus will be on networking with your fellow writers.
With the new and exciting world of Kindles and Print-on-Demand (POD), Independent Publishing is becoming an enticing choice and a viable alternative to traditional publishing.
