I offer proofreading and content editing services through a Writer''s Journal Blog. A description of both services are provided on the website/blog, as well as the pricing and submission/request guidelines.
What to Expect
Proofreading is the final step in the book editing process, and as such I expect all the major problems to have been dealt with already. Thus what I look for is simply…
-Spelling errors, synonym/homonym confusion, singular/plural issues, etc.
-Typos/Missing words/Transpositions etc.
-Capitalization/Punctuation mistakes
-Light Grammatical errors (I don’t dig too deeply into this because in fiction writing, some grammar errors are deliberate and part of the author’s writing style.)
-I don’t touch content or the format of the manuscript. However, I might mention to the author, if there are some blaring errors that I notice and think should be addressed.
Pricing is done by word count and we offer great rates for Indie Authors on a limited budget. Please find pricing & submission guidelines on A Writer's Journal website.
