Butterfly Lake starts with a bang and never lets up. The two Vietnam vets are awesome characters, and I rooted for them the whole time. Bad things happen, but not as bad as it could have been, so you're left with a good feeling at the end of the book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a short thriller.

Nice work, engaging, realistic, reminiscent of Truman Capote, but without the gore and explicit violence. Good edit, no errors, easy to read, the characters are well drafted and rounded out. If you have been through the back-country, where there are no roads for miles, you can relate to the environment, because it is crafted quite genuinely. Can almost smell the fir trees as I read through it. I give Butterfly Lakes high marks, well 5 stars to be specific.
Children will enjoy reading and hearing about the silly antics of a puppy still learning how to be a good listener. This story is about Riley, a cute, little, rescue puppy who gets into all sorts of predicaments.
