Bond of Brothers: Danger Close, Reviewed by Keith Mbuya for Readers’ Favorite
What could possibly go wrong in war-torn Iraq after the Taliban and Al-Qaeda militia have been beaten? Probably nothing. Or so the US government thinks after winning the war against the terror groups and withdrawing their troops in Iraq. Barely had the US troops healed from their battle wounds when a new terror group movement, The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), began its operation in Iraq. Obliged to restore sanity and order in the world, the United States sends its troop back to Iraq to combat the terror group. Will the US win the war against ISIS? Among the regrouped troops is Emma, a rookie pilot for the US Airforce. Jason, on the other hand, finds himself back in Iraq for the second time on combat duties. Find out what happens to them and their colleagues in Iraq in Robert J. Saniscalchi’s Bond of Brothers.
Enthusiasts of action-packed, war-based stories will love Robert J. Saniscalchi’s Bond of Brothers. The author captures the mood and action of the war in Iraq in a unique way. He puts just enough sentiment into his words to make me feel the emotions of the soldiers in action. I could feel the terror, tension, despair, agony, thrills, excitement, and much more emotions in the characters. His style of writing had me feeling like I was right there beside his characters, helplessly watching them make their every move. He gives vivid and impressively picturesque depictions of his characters and wonderfully develops his characters. Their traits were well brought out. This made it easy to connect with the characters. Emma is the type of intelligent, beautiful, strong-willed character you can’t help but love. There is a light romance, jet action, camp life, missiles, gunfire, a lot of gunfire, and much more in Bond of Brothers.
