The two copies of my book that I recently sent to the USA arrived safely on the weekend. Last night I had an email from my new friend who wrote a private review of the book that he asked not to be posted on the Internet. Apparently he began reading on Friday and finished it Saturday because he couldn't put it down once he started reading.
I'm thrilled with his response and surprised as I thought once he began to read he may not wish to continue. The man concerned is married, very straight in his moral code and ethics, and I was sure that my story would not be something he would bother reading. Even though he admits to being addicted to chat for 6 years, his addiction never went beyond chat in the rooms he visited. I, on the other hand, went way beyond that line.
He had an almost perfect insight into me and understood things I didn't say outright. It proved once again that the book does have merit, is worth reading, and could help many people come to grips with the reality of fantasy. Whilst he didn't need to learn about the things I wrote about, it did further entrench in his mind that the things he thought about chat, and what he thought may be going on under the surface, actually do happen regularly. I'm pleased that the book went to such a learned gentleman and perhaps he may pass his copy around to others that could be interested as well.
I hope that in the not too distant future I will receive a review from him that I can post. If I do, it will be on Authors Den :)
