As I never was totally happy with my book when it was through the edit stage, printed and released, I've decided on a rewrite. I intend to use the original title and to shorten and hopefully smarten up the stories.
The book will be released as an eBook, making it easier to obtain and also to cut out the cost of postage which is just ridiculous. Regardless of what an item weighs, the cost for 5kg is the same as it is for much less. Postage overseas to the US from Sydney is $11AU for a copy of the book so that pushes the price up if you are trying to recoup some of your expenses.
To make a profit on the book by selling it as it is now, I have to charge a lot more than people online are willing to pay, and more than I would be willing to pay for a novel too. So in an effort to get my story out there where I wanted it, an eBook seems the way to go. The copies I have in storage I will just write off as a lesson learned the hard way, in the pocket!
The project is arduous as I said when I finished editing that I would never touch it again. It seems a shame though, when I did put so much effort and time and money into the book, to just let it lie there and die. The story is one that many people would like to tell about their own experiences on the Internet, but are afraid to tell. I believe there is no fear in truth, only in lies, so I have never feared writing the stories about my life that I did.
So look for it somewhere down the track, and if you have any interest at all in Internet chat and the exposure that a person can experience from that medium, then consider buying a copy to download and read. It is true and there are no punches pulled and no dressing up of the facts. Just raw life as thousands like me have experienced and many thousands will experience in years to come if they spend time in chat rooms.
