The editor of the online magazine Redbridge Review, Rotimi Ogunjobi, recently debuted the first offline print anthology of writings culled from the publication.  Entitled THE PERSISTENCE OF DREAMS, the anthology features an extended essay by Aberjhani called “The Light and the Way of Luther E. Vann.”

Writing in the current edition of the publication, the editor of the Redbridge Review stated that the title of the new anthology reflects the growth and evolution of magazine from earlier incarnations as a print publication, then as an online e-zine that eventually turned into the Redbridge Review, and now the anthology PERSISTENCE OF DREAMS.  It is the first in a projected series of Redbridge Review anthologies.

            “The Persistence of Dreams represents new beginnings, resurrections, and continuations,” said Rotimi Ogunjobi. “It is a transformative process for the web-based magazine as well as the careers of some of the writers published in this anthology. It is also emblematic in that it illustrates the magazine’s editorial policy––a dedication to publish all forms of artistic endeavour, and to encourage discussion on such.”

            The anthology’s essay by Aberjhani, “The Light and the Way of Luther E. Vann,” examines the life of the artist Vann and traces his partnership in creativity with the author-poet Aberjhani. The essay also discusses how their shared creative vision produced work published in such magazines as ESSENCE, and includes poetry from Vann and Aberjhani’s book project, ELEMENTAL.

            In addition to Aberjhani and the editor Ogunjobi, PERSISTENCE OF DREAMS includes the writings of: Zinta Aistars, June Avignon, David-Matthew Barnes, J. Boyer, Michele W. Campanellis, Rich Furman, Ruth Latta, Swan Lee, Kelly Ann Malone, Mike Philbin, Randy Snow, Kristi Swadley, Julio Vazquez, Paul Yoes, and Jeff Vande Zande. The anthology also boasts original cover art by Creative Edge artist Andy J. Fox.
