With profound regret I said farewell to Savora and Chuong, two men who had become great companions and friends to John and myself.I feel that I will return to Cambodia, the golden temples, the friendly people and the essence of Cambodian life. John and I spent two weeks traveling to Hanoi and Saigon,Vietnam-Vientaine, Laos revisiting old friends and renewing our spirits with the spiritually presence that asian cities have always had on us. Old friends welcomed us to Hanoi and it was like coming home, it was so familar, so overwhelming was their friendship. Hoi An in Vietnam is a small city on the coast near Danang, and we lazed on the beach and swam in the warm waters. The seafood meals were a delight to the tast buds and the people's 'don't worry, be happy' cries relaxed our tired minds and we smiled at our new friends.I'm sure John and I will return to Southeast Asia in 2002- the reward of living with these special people draws us back time and time again."
