Wednesday, April 20, 2005.  In what seems to be a final move in favor of big business, Amazon.com has deleted hundreds of Indie mp3 song offerings in its digital music network. The free downloads were competing with established artists with records to sell.

As some may know, my own song "Schiavo" (dedicated to the late Terri Schiavo) had reached # 1 in the category of Progressive Rock and recently it became the # 1 Indie download of all-time. Amazon just deleted it without any notice and prevented me (and hundreds of other artists who only wished to share their work) from uploading anything or even signing-in to my digital music network account. From Amazon:

To upload MP3s to Amazon.com currently, you must have worldwide distribution rights to the song and the song must be from a CD with a valid UPC.
