Success Story
When I think about the constantly tenuous state of all creative endeavors, it's hard to imagine that any one particular creation of mine would solidify to a near-popular status. It did happen, though, and with of all things, a song.
After over twenty years of creating music, a song of mine became the # 1 Progressive Rock download on Amazon.com. A few days later it became the # 1 Indie Music download (a broader category). A few days later it was ranked # 163 in all-time downloads (just above a tune by J.S. Bach...lol). Needless to say, it took me a bit by surprise, for I am a generally non-mainstream guy who has become quite used to being ignored.
I shared some of this news on AuthorsDen via the press release which my longtime agent and I consulted upon. That appears under my News section here, along with an interesting story regarding my musical relationship with Amazon. I'd like to thank whomever has lent me support by giving this a listen (it's free, btw). I'd also like to ask the AuthorsDen community for your continued support, for we have a rare thing going here. The situation of an unsigned musician without a cd to sell making it to # 1 in a couple of music categories (above alot of musicians you've heard of before) is something which, I'm sorry to speculate, can be more easily swept under the rug if that initial support appears flagging.
Anyone who reads this would have my kindest appreciation if they would simply give the tune a free listen and show continued support for a song which is dedicated to Terri Schiavo.
