The galleys for my book, "A View from the Hills," are ready for proofing, as is the cover. (I figure if worse comes to worse, folks can use the cover in their gardens to scare away pests and the rest of it for mulch.)
Actually, I'm pretty excited now. My release date should be late May/earlyJune. This is my first book (couldn't tell, could you?) and I'm flabbergasted. It's all I can do to keep from jumping up and down. Having seen so many others' books become reality, I'm thrilled to finally have one of my own.
I know the real work starts now, and that I need to get to work on the next one, too. But for the moment, I just want to soak it all in, to savor the moment. If this is the way I feel with just the proofs, what's it like when you can finally hold your book in your hands?
Thanks to everyone who's provided encouragement and inspiration.
