Hello Everyone,
After experiencing chest pains I drove myself to the emergency room on December 4. I was diagnosed with a E. coli urinary infection, a blood clot on my left lung, and pneumonia on my right lung, and given oxygen. The fluid in the lung would not drain, so I had lung surgery on December 11 to remove the infection and install filters on my veins to prevent further blood clots from coming up from my legs.
My right lung was fully involved with an aggressive infection and collapsed. Fortunately, I awoke in ICU with no breathing tube, and was off oxygen in two days. It took a long time for my lung to drain after that, so I spent my birthday 12/21/12 and Christmas in the hospital, but arrived home last night, very happy to get out of the hospital because most of that stay is torture for a quadriplegic that needs to move and can't.
Please do not e-mail me or call me with well wishes. But if you have something important to write or call (281 879-4856) me about, please do. I have many things to do before the end of the year and hundreds of e-mails to deal with so I can't chat or respond to e-mails quickly. I am feeling good, sleeping well, but it will take time for me to be able to operate the computer well… So everything takes longer for me to do. Soon I will be back up to speed. That is much better than not having the surgery and dying on my birthday.
