On August 30th, Tom Hyland sent me this email. I apologize for the delay but I wasn't sure whether he wanted to reveal that he had terminal cancer.

Nice to hear from you. Been sick. In 10 weeks have gone from bealthy to Terminally ill patient. 

Thorocentesis ( 4 x ) drained liquid from lungs. Bad biopsies - then pain then Morphine. Then to hospice 

(  same buiding ). Still there Rm 341. 

No pain now. On morphine pills. 

3 squares / day. Plenty liquids. 

Fully accepted prognosis and at peace with decision.   

Made it to 84 on Sunday 8/25/24. 

Celebration with 10-12 Family members & Friends. Nice chats & gifts & hugs all around. 

 Have not divulged much on FB.
