Painted Words 2016 (Edition 12) has a warm and inviting cover this year - perhaps because central Victoria has been brooding all winter and spring under rain clouds! This year's anthology/journal has already attracted Click here and features over 330pages of content - including poems, short stories, flash fiction, essays, creative nonfiction pieces, novel extracts and mythic reminaginings - by around two dozen students enrolled in BKI's Professional Writing and Editing program.

Students enrolled in ithe Project Management class selected and helped edit work for the journal. They've also assisted in designing and launching this year's anthology. Their teacher, Peter Wiseman, has done a tremendous job organising the students and leading all facets of the production process. Many pieces featured were birthed in a range of PWE classes.

The 12th edition of Painted Words will be launched on Thursday 17th November at the City Campus restaurant (from 7pm Note: bookings apply). A free ebook version of the journal will be posted online a week or so after the launch. Print versions will be available on the night or from the Bendigo TAFE library for a limited time.

Bendigo Kangan Institute's writing program has now produced 13 high quality writing journals since 2005. All up, we've published over 700 pieces (almost 3000 pages of work) by hundreds of emerging and established central Victorian writers and poets.
