RetroRocket Science, Manhattan Sleeps and Aliens Ate My Homework are available through CDBaby.
Retro Rocket Science has been accused of ruining classic rock radio for many people. The production perfectly captures the sound of the original, but then Maya starts singing and too late you realize you're not in Kansas anymore. The incongruity of Maya's soulful singing and Jeff's twisted parody lyrics may leave listeners disoriented, but most seem to like it. Reviewer Tom Tuerff wrote of Jeff's guitar playing that "he has more chops than Sam the Butcher". A compliment clothed in a Brady Bunch reference pretty much sums up the spirit of Retro Rocket Science. If you like your rock and roll with a twist, then this is the album for you.
The sound of Manhattan Sleeps is a modern yet timeless blend of acoustic and electric, with an atmospheric splash of synths and exotic percussion. The lyrics are both introspective and outward looking - searching for spirituality without pretension or pat answers. Maya's vocals are warm and powerfully assured. Jeff's guitar playing and other instrumental work provide a solid foundation for Maya's voice.
In their never-ending quest to ruin classic rock radio comes "Aliens Ate My Homework!". This CD parodies some of the genre's most sacred cows. Subjects range from Lord of the Rings to Cubs baseball to Harry Potter to airline travel. It's strongly recommended that if you listen to this at your computer that you avoid having any beverages nearby - it's really hard to clean the sprayed liquid out of the keyboard. As with their first parody album "Retro Rocket Science", the sound of the original songs is recreated with uncanny accuracy - but don't be lulled into a false sense of complacency - when Maya starts singing, things get zany and twisted beyond recognition. The song "We Are the Cubs Fans" was featured on the nationally syndicated Dr. Demento radio show on May 2, 2004.
