How my poem, "Christ", is a Semi-Finalist in the International Open Poetry Competition for this Spring of 2004. This means I am eligible in a positive way, a better chance, for the $1,000 prizes and maybe, the $10,000!
I am probably dreaming about the money but it is nice to know my work is appreciated to people.
It appeared before me on the road, as I was walking the dog, early Friday morning. There was a breeze.
Before me lay a wooden stake. I immediately thought of Jesus Christ and the stakes being driven into him, How he suffered for us, the people.
How did this get here? I wondered but then just accepted it and picked up the stake and took it home with me and my dog. The Three most important things in my lifeat this moment in time!!!!!
