Sometimes, life throws a lot of unexpected surprises and opportunities at certain people. Growing up in rural Wyoming, Amy never expected anything unusual would every happen to her. She enjoyed working outdoors with her parents, aunts, uncles and cousins on their large, family-owned dairy farm. She learned to drive the tractor, measure feed, cook from scratch, balance the books, and ride a horse. She knew that, she would probably end up married to a local boy who would help in the family business, and raise her own kids on the farm she loved so much.
When Amy was sixteeen years old, she and some of her cousins spent the weekend in Cheyenne. While visiting a mall there, Amy's cousins dared her to try out at a booth set up by a modeling agency. She went over just for fun, but as soon as the talent agent laid eyes on her, he knew he'd found someone with "It Factor." He offered her a modeling contract on the spot. Back home, Amy's parents were divided about whether or not to allow her to pursue this opportunity. Amy's mother was terrified that her daughter would be vulnerable away from their protection. Her father, on the other hand, knew that Amy was responsible and hard-working, and believed his beautiful daughter had the potential to do something extraordinary. The parents allowed her to move to New York City along with an older cousin, Jenny, to act as a chaperone.
While in New York, Jenny took the opportunity to party and experiment, while level-headed Amy kept everything in order. She was an instant hit as a model, easily landing catalog and print-ad gigs. She worked steadily, supported herself and her cousin, and sent money home to her parents, as well. She also atended parties, dated musicians, and developed an addiction for expensive gourmet coffees. After working in New York for a year and a half, she was surprised to receive a call out of the blue offering her a movie role in L.A.
Now eighteen, Amy moved to California on her own to appear as a supporting actress in one of Stan Alderman's action films. While the movie's producer had seen Amy's modeling work and wnted her for the role, it was Stan who fell hard for Amy. The young model and the actor who was twice her age began a steamy love affair and she soon moved in with him. Amy felt as though her life was a fairy tale of fame and glamour, until another unexpected gift from fate showed up - she was pregnant.
Stan seemed excited about the pregnancy, but soon after baby Alex was born, it was obvious that he was not much of a hands-on parent. Amy instanly fell in love with her son, though, and threw herself into mothering with the same responsibility and commitment that she put into all her efforts. As the gulf between her and Stan grew, however, she longed to raise her son in a place where he would be surrounded by family and love. She made a heart-wrenching decisions, to leave Stan and move back to Wyoming. Living again in the house she grew up in, Amy is once again helping in the family business, and raising her child on the farm she loves so much.
