Probably; the most lucrative business to be in today, is the business of selling "Heaven". Multi-millionaires are being made by offering a "fantasy-island, in the sky"--for a small donation.
HEAVEN: It’s for sale!...for a small price...that is.
It’s an understatement, to say that we are living in “…difficult times, hard to deal with….” (2nd Timothy3:1-5) We are being bombarded with daily reports of acts of terrorism here and abroad. Our own government agencies are at odds with each other on how to deal with our troublesome domestic and social issues. Lack of trust in our political leaders is at an all time high. Amidst all this confusion; millions of people are desperate to find some “HOPE”...something to believe in. And, millions of people are finding that hope in what these charismatic Evangelists, Pastors and Preachers of the many mega-churches in America are offering them: “a piece of HEAVEN.” That is, for a small “donation.”
In recent years, these mega-churches have flourished! With attendances in the tens of thousands; their preachers are raking in millions of dollars a week--in their stadium sized complexes. Lakewood church in Houston, Texas reigns supreme. Lakewood’s pastor, Joel Osteen, has risen to the top of the pyramid among his contemporaries. His sermons emphasize health, wealth and prosperity to all who “believe.” He declares HEAVENLY bliss, in a “Heavenly Paradise” to all who accept Jesus as their savior.
(Selling HEAVEN has become a very lucrative business!) For a small "donation" you too can reserve a piece of land in Heaven when you die. Most ALL of these charlatans are preaching the "RAPTURE" doctrine, which is a misinterpretation of (1 Thessalonians 4 v-15-17). The apostle Paul was referring to that small group of anointed saints who will rule with Jesus from Heaven during the 1,000 year reign over earth.
(If we all go to Heaven when we die; then who will be here on EARTH to rule over when Jesus returns ?) Simple LOGIC would help to understand the plan God has for the near future of mankind on earth.
It seems; most ALL of the TV and Radio Evangelists are now in the Real-estate business of selling “HEAVEN.” Taking advantage of the troublesome times we live in; they’re catering to our fears and insecurities. Their luxurious lifestyles reflect their prosperity.
They are the modern-day “carpetbaggers” (opportunists) in sheep’s clothing. And, that clothing is verrrry expensive!
Unfortunately, that real-estate property is bogus and a misconception and misinterpretation of the scriptures, by many leading religious leaders, who probably even know that what they are selling is a LIE. According to the Bible; there IS a Heavenly hope for a select class of anointed ones, and the rest of us "other-sheep" are destined to inherit the restored earth after an earthly resurrection. (Matthew 19 v-27-30)
