Two new books of poetry now released and available

Two new short hardbound collections of poetry are now available through Amazon (or any other of the usual book seller venues): 1) Santa Cruz Sargasso, Berkeley Fog', and 2) 'Falling Off the Mountain'.

Both of these books are available only in hardcover, since my attitude towards literature is philosophically opposed to modern efforts to reduce everything literary to downloadable electrons (i.e. 'Kindle', etc.). Whether or not Kindle (etc.) encourages more reading among those who have grown up with hand-held personal PCs (read: smartphones) is of little matter to me, as someone has been a life-long worshipper of 'old fashioned' books (and who also disdains cellular communications devices).

At any rate, both the books are in 5x8 hardcover format, so they are easily transported or taken along just about anywhere (they are particularly enjoyable as an accompaniment to unconstrained draughts of something red and French Rhone-ish in flavor, in my opinion, since after that first quaff no one could possibly remain particularly critical of the books' contents, thence forward...).

'Falling Off the Mountain' comes with a gray cloth binding ('Santa Cruz Sargasso' comes in a white hardbound binding) and the title is an allusion to an old Chinese Ch'an Buddhist koan about how it is actually impossible to fall off a mountain. While that fact must come something of a relief to any student of Zen or Ch'an who aspires to mountaineering, and while falling completely off a mountain may be a philosophical impossibility, it's still those short falls ON the mountain that can kill you real dead. But that is merely tangential back-story.

No pretense is made that the books' contents are worthy of a Nobel Prize, let alone an 'Un-noble' one...merely they serve to witness as actual proof that seating 20,000 high-grade Chimpanzees down in front of word processors will eventually yield a work equivalent to a low-grade, completely wretched comic book (without the pictures).

On that basis, enjoy...
