Reading and literacy campaign-Be the author of YOUR life!
I have posted this entry both as a blog and a news event and it is intended to be a special Thank-You for the staff, administration, students and volunteers at Varsity Lakes Middle School in Lee County, Florida. Those of you that follow my news are aware that I was invited to take part in this truly wonderful event. I had the distinct pleasure of visiting with a wonderul educator, Mr. Mark Irwin, and his seventh grade class. We spent some time reading a few excerpts from H.G. Wells' 'The Time Machine' and spent a lot of time discussing the importance of reading. The kids were welcoming, insightful and infused with infectious vitality! It was a true pleasure to spend the morning with them and having the opportunity to share a brief glimpse into one of literary history's greatest, classic works.
I look forward to meeting with all of you again in the future, but if we do not have the opportunity to cross paths again, remember to believe in yourself and find your voice! YOU are the author of YOUR life; take it and make it into something wonderful!
