Manhattan Seeds of the Big Apple, the l7th century saga of Resolved Waldron, who was New Netherland Governor Peter Stuyvesant's favorite sheriff , as well as one of the most hated lawmen of his time by the Quakers for his arrest of English merchant, John Bowne. Waldron who came to New Amsterdam with his young family mid l600s lived on present day Wall Street and Broadway before relocating to Harlem after the English took over in l664. Manhattan Seeds of the Big Apple was the first of the Hukle book series. The Dutch Manhattan story was followed by The Diary of a Northern Moon a more contempory tale of deceit set in the Adirondack Mountains of New York that reveals a forgotten family history and a legacy.  In 2009 Threads An American Tapestry was published, a passionate story of a half Dutch -half Lenape native woman, Margaret Vandenberg, and her large northern plantation along the banks of the Hudson River. This l8th century enterprise worked by Margaret's beloved family of African American slaves has origins found with the Waldron of old New Amsterdam bringing Hukle's three novels full circle.
