Webster, NY.April 7, 2008. A just released novel by James A LaMonica tells the story of Dalia who had been brought to her Aunt’s house in the country where she lived with her cousin Carrie for a short time. This happy part of her childhood was cut short by a fire that destroyed the house and took aunt Jessie’s life. Dalia life would never be the same. She and her cousin were separated and Dalia always dreamt of being re-united with her cousin.
Frank came to Dalia’s aid when he found her on the street after one of her pimp Baxter’s beatings. Instead of accepting Frank’s help she lashed out at him so when the police arrived they thought that Frank had beat her and arrested him. The fact that Dalia accused Frank of the beating and the troubled look on her face that night, motivated Frank to help her.
His simple gesture to help a fellow human being led to their finding out the circumstances of Dalia’s troubled childhood and the whereabouts of her long lost cousin, Carrie.
With Frank’s help Dalia got a job and an apartment, straightened out her life and finally found her cousin Carrie. In their search for Carrie, Frank and Dalia became good friends and eventually fell in love. Frank was happy being a part a Dalia life and Dalia had finally become aware of the love that had alluded her all her life. Everything came to a abrupt end when Baxter finally located Dalia.
