...''k, it was just a paragraph. But it was a great writing exercise. Luuuuv to win!
Clouds formed in the late December sky. Like me, they looked faded and forlorn. I tried to rub the chill out of my arms. Temperatures are going to drop even more, a weather reader had said. The perkiness never left her voice. I looked up at the sky again. Was that a bright spot I saw? I blinked and looked again. The spot was small, but yes, it was definitely there. Had even moved a cloud to make a place for itself. I thought I heard a voice and moved away from the window. Having to get about in a wheelchair was new, and I ran into a table the first time I tried to turn. A lamp crashed to the floor. I was afraid to look closely, but I did. It didn't have a scratch on it. The bulb hadn't broken, or anything. But what if it had broken? I thought. Can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, as the saying goes. It took two more tries, but I managed to turn and wheel my way toward the voice. I could feel light growing all around me.
