Who's Sally?

Many women and girls are named Sally.

This Sally is a saddle. A travelin' saddle, to be exact.

Sally is my newest character creation, and she is literally being created. As I write this, she awaits a bit of needlework before her next layer is ready. Sally has parts to read in her picture book, Sally the Travelin' Saddle, so I thought it would be best if she read them herself. No, I'm not a ventriloquist, too, though at one time I sought out to be. Sally will be played by a student reader, I hope. Or, she will have a voicebox all her own.

Don't ask me where this idea came from because I will tell you! I would rather take this time to show you what is happening in Sally's world.

... right, Sally. For the readings associated with this picture book, I will use a puppet. Sally is that puppet. She's the one who travels. She should help tell her story!

I've also decided to give away a handmade child size puppet Sally. A replica of the one I will be using. There will only be three puppets made: one for my school readings and festivals, one for the library mentioned in the story, and one to give away to a lucky entrant!

I hope I have more entrants. So far, there aren't any.

We'll see what happens. There are 33 days left in the giveaway. Maybe I'll have more than a few people enter.

If not, I can hold a drawing at the festival, I suppose...
