Charles Godfrey Leland wrote Aradia over 100 years ago, and his translation was grossly incorrect. No one re-translated it until 1998, and that was incomplete.
I've been working on a new translation of Leland's "Aradia: Gospel of the Witches" for several months, and it is nearing completion. My work will show that many of the concepts that have been considered 'gospel' simply do not bear out in a corrected translation. In some places, Leland didn't bother to translate at all, didn't offer the Italian original so we could determine what was really written, or simply added words of his own in English to make it fit. Several places in his interpretation, he opted to make the words fit into an English rhyme. Some of the Italian was written in rhyme, to be sure, but to deliberately pervert a translation so that it will rhyme in another language is unforgiveable.
Our culture has taught us to believe in many ideas which aren't actually real. Exposing these illusions allows us to recover the power to live our lives according to our deepest desires.
