Hasbrouck Heights resident June Phyllis Baker has announced that her first novel,No Regrets has been  released by  The novel is a light hearted, romantic tale mixing mystery and crime with humor and excitement.

Small town reporter Arlene Sinclair is determined to make a name for herself with her writing and show her boss and others that she was meant for more than being a wife and mother. She is resolved to prove that women of the 50's can do it all and are not meant to be stuck behind a stove. Much to Sheriff Lance Carter’s dismay, it seems she’s always around when something notable happens, but Lance does not want to admit to her or himself that he is smitten. When the town is plagued by several robberies, Arlene is right there behind Lance trying to track down the “big” story. She uses her own sleuthing methods to get to the bottom of the many happenings in town, one of which is why the mayor is so adamant about making changes. When she finds out he is up to no good, she makes up her mind she is going to find the evidence to nail him. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to her, a man from her past is hell-bound on seeking revenge, keeping both her and the sheriff on their toes.

Author June Phyllis Baker always loved the written word. When she was a child growing up in Hasbrouck Heights, the library held a summer reading contest each year for the children and every year she entered and always placed in the top readers. The summer she was eight years old, she won honorable mention. That love continued and she remains an avid reader today.

At twelve, June entered a contest by submitting a short story she had written. She didn’t win, but it spurred her love for writing and led to the eventual publication of her short story, “Memories,” in October 2003. Her passion has taken wing with the 2008 release of her first novel, No Regrets.

June loves British comedy and hopes to eventually merge this with her writing in a story set in England, which will be quite a change from her current novels set in the 1950's.

A high energy little dynamo, June talks faster than she writes and finds sleep is overrated as far as she is concerned. There’s little time for sleep with so many stories yet to be told.
