My picture book Bears on Chairs is number 9 on a list of the best picture books of 2011 in Japan.
Bears on Chairs published by Candlewick Press in 2009 was published in a Japanese version in 2011. The bears have been so popular in Japan that the publisher reordered three times after the initial order. MOE magazine, a Japanese magazine devoted to picture books will list Bears on Chairs as the no. 9 Best Picture Book of 2011.
The publisher has bought translation rights for Bears in Beds and will publish in Japanese when the book comes out in English in Fall, 2012.
