2017 Lucidity Ozark Poetry Retreat

Eureka Springs, April 4-6, 2017 was the setting of the 25th meeting of poets from across the South.

The Lucidity Retreat is designed to incorporate lectures, critique workshops, contests and opportunities to read work aloud.

It is sponsored by the Lucidity International Journal since 1991, Its founder is Ted. O. Badger.

Spending these days with 44 new and experienced poets in critique sessions was especially inspirational. Fellow poets voiced their opinions with the sole purpose of making good poems better. What a positive experience!

This year the lecture leaders were Charlotte Renk, Athens, TX and Jim Barton, Huttig, AR, President, National Federation of State Poetry Societies. The Featured Poet was Carla Kirchner, Springfield, MO and the the Director was Birma Castle, Beaumont, TX.

Patricia A. Oplinger won 1st HM for a Free Verse poem about Altzheimer's disease, "Triple Impact".
