Action/Thriller

Fun and Awards for Regional Writers at Harding University

A quartet of writer-friends drove to Searcy, Arkansas for the annual White County Creative Writers Conference Saturday, September 2, 2017.

C. Allen Butkus, Cheri Quattrocchi, Geneva Emerson and yours truly enjoyed the topics of conversation going and coming that day. Sharing is such a joy with gifted, enthusiastic people.

We each won awards; different categories, some prose and some poetry, all creative.

I was awarded 2nd HM for a Villanelle, a 2nd HM for a minute poem, a 1st HM for a song parody and anothe 1st HM for an etheree.

The Weird Al Contest was my favorite because my parody was to the tune of "White Christmas." It is fun to sing "Summer Daze" in a car at the top of your voice with your three friends singing along while riding the natural highs that come with success!
