R. Gaskins, author of "Broken", will be debuting her first novel on March 29th, 2014 with the help of Opal Book Publishing.

"Broken" is a love/drama about two young people who come from two different places, but have the same goals and desires in life.  This love story shows how their life together thrusts into many different obstacles, that appear almost impossible to comprehend.  Determined and loyal, Tre is driven with the desire to make a life for him and the woman of his dreams, while Nia, although raised in a church, overcomes her constant struggles with her faith and beliefs.

Author R. Gaskins, a happily married wife and mother of three states..."I desire to write books that touch the hearts of my readers..."  Before completing her first novel, R. Gaskins started writing poems and then moved on to Spoken Words.  Her inspiration to other writers is to believe in the gift that God has placed upon you and not to be discouraged by others.

R. Gaskins' biggest supporter is her husband, Terrance Gaskins, and believes that it is because of him and his belief in her, that she could accomplish her goal in completing her debut "Broken".

She's the newest local author in the DMV area and currently works for a Non-Profit Organization in Washington, DC and hopes to write full time soon!
