Danny R. Von Kanel, Christian author, music teacher, and Franklinton, Louisiana resident has penned a variety of articles in 2014.
The January issue of The Christian Standard carries Von Kanel’s article, The Eyes of Jesus, a feature article that gives tools to nurture compassion and see others through Christ’s eyes.
“Grounded”, an article that asks and answers the question, what do others know of our faith? Is in the April 27th, 2014 issue of Evangel magazine, a Free Methodist publication.
The April, 2014 issue of The Christian Standard features Von Kanel’s article “When Praying Becomes Hard”, giving six keys to opening communication.
“Acts of Mercy”, an article about giving second chances, will appear in the June 8th issue of Evangel magazine by Von Kanel
Evangel magazine will another Von Kanel article entitled “Constant Motion” that helps readers live a life of movement toward God in their June 22, 2014.
An article entitled, “The Upside of Failing” will appear in the June, 2014 issue of The Christian Standard magazine by Von Kanel. A sidebar will be included “The Downside of Success”.
“Separation”, an article soon to appear by Von Kanel in the July 20th, 2014 issue of Evangel magazine, gives keys to being in the world but not of it.
Other articles to follow later this year include: “When Others Hardly Notice” in the July 20th issue of The Lookout magazine; Rebuilding Torn Down Places in the Winter 2014-2015 issue of Evangel magazine; “Separated from Loved Ones” in the Winter 2014-2015 quarterly issue in Mature Years, a United Methodist senior adult magazine; and “Self Restraint” (Maintaining Control When Others Don’t) will appear in Evangel sometime after November, 2014.
In addition to hundreds of articles Von Kanel has published in 50+ magazines, He has three books published in 2003, 2005, and 2013 by CSS Publishing and 4RV Publishing.
Von Kanel has lived in Franklinton since 2002. He has served First Baptist Church, Franklinton Louisiana (2002-2005) and Memorial Baptist Church, Bogalusa, Louisiana (2005-2008) as Minister of Music. During the 2009-2010 school year, he taught music at Northside Tech Middle School in Bogalusa. Von Kanel for the last three years has taught choral music at the L.P. Vaughn Elementary/Middle School in Natchitoches, Louisiana with the Natchitoches Parish School District. He served Washington Parish as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) from 2002-2005; directed a “School of Fine Arts” during the summer of 2008; and instituted the annual Living Nativity held at Memorial Baptist church.
Von Kanel is the married to Beverly Gay Allen Von Kanel and has two grown sons and five grandchildren.
