In his first interview of the year 2015, Aberjhani discusses with Poetry Life & Times editors Sara L. Russell and Robin Ouzman Hislop everything from what first inspired him to begin writing poetry as a teenager to current books and multimedia works in progress. The new interview has posted just in time for World Poetry Day (March 21) and National Poetry Month (April) 2015:
Poetry Life and Times An Interview with Author-Poet Aberjhani
In addition to the author’s frank responses to almost a dozen questions on diverse topics, the interview also features several complete poems, including: “Angel of Healing, for the Living, the Dying, and the Praying”; “A Poet’s Birthday Dance through Fire and Rain”; “The History Lesson”; and “Photographed Light of My Grandmother’s Soul”.
Aberjhani’s “Ode to the Good Black Boots that Served My Soul So Well,” from a forthcoming volume of new and selected works, made its debut in the publication in October 2014. The editors published the poem “Gratitudes of a Dozen Roses” in 2012.
Poetry Life & Times is based in London and has an international readership. In addition to serving as the publication’s editors, Russell and Ouzman Hislop are highly-acclaimed poets in their own right. Ouzman is also renowned as an accomplished translator of contemporary poetry.
