January 1, 2016, I'll begin my 12th year studying the bald eagles, cougars, bear, wolves, coyotes, and owls, wetland wildlife. 

Though I've shot over a million images, at least a thousand hours of raw footage of wildlife, changes to the wetlands through the past 11 years, I feel I've only scratched the surface of the stories awaiting my attention.

Last year was the toughest of all. You can read about it one day, but not before the eagles show me the right time to release their stories I've been documenting. 

Sometimes people ask, "Why do you this documentary? They have eagle webcams you know."

I agree, the webcams can provide SO much footage, pictures I couldn't ever get, but they don't record the full experience, they can't always share what made the eagle fly off a branch, or what food it grabbed at and missed in the river below, teaching their offspring to fish, or the eaglets fledging and falling in the river below, they can't capture the mother deer laying down her fawns at dusk by their nest while the coyotes circle her scent. That's why I create my documentaries in person. I have tons of pictures of cougars leaping through field cameras in a blur, glowing eyes of coyotes, and lots of foilage blowing in front of the camera lens. That's only part of the experience.

There's more to a story than a camera lens can capture, and that's where my personal notes and sketches fill my pile of field journals, documenting the eagles lives and my walk with the Lord. I really do believe He has made this all possible and I trust I'm exactly where He wants me for this chapter of my life. Look at the picture of the coyote on this page (hopefully it shows up here), the coyote was looking for food when our paths crossed. I was lucky enough to capture it moving through the brush, before it stepped out thirty feet away from me.
