For those of you that may be wondering, while the flooding in Houston and surrounding areas affected 5 million people and while many, many people lost their cars, homes and apartments to street and development flooding, the danger and loss of life was minimal.
We were fine. We got about 7 inches overnight and about 9.25 inches overall and are expecting up to 4 inches in the next three days. We had street flooding that lasted about three hours in the morning yesterday. The whole area we live in had flooding similar to what happened last year on Memorial Day when we got 10 inches (pictured).
All the commotion with two televisions on and people worried about if/or going to work cut into my writing yesterday, a bit. Otherwise, things were pretty normal. While many did from all the lightning, we never lost power. Through all the flooding in the last 32 years, my house remains high and dry like so many that the newspeople don't report.
