The Festival was a great success! Entertaining speakers and informative events lasted three full days.
Rachel Abbott, a rare self publishing success, was open about her success being due to starting years ago. She used methods to promote her books which would not work today due to the exponential rise of writers. Confirming why there are also so many 'marketing gurus' out there, too.
Most interesting was a Public Edit presentation by Richard Beard. Two samples of work by local writers were used as examples. Expect to edit your book at least 20 times he stated!
The venue for the Writers' Fair was Castle Cornet. A wonderful site on a rocky outcrop with sea on three sides. Local writers were able to display and sell their books here. 'The Great Wizard Wars' was a popular draw for the children.
