Happy Thanksgiving!

May this holiday season bring you a spirit of gratitude, an extra measure of love, and happiness beyond your fondest dreams.

Personally and professionally, I have much for which to be grateful, including your friendship and your patronage of GoalMinds products and services. This year I will celebrate Thanksgiving Day with two of my three sons, Thomas and Michael, and their wives. My other two children, Resa and James, are in Texas. I hope that you have friends and family with whom to share the spirit of the season!

Some of my friends live in countries which do not celebrate the American Thanksgiving Day. No doubt they give thanks in special ways throughout the year. May the Lord, by whatever name you know Him, bless each of you abundantly.

I was recently privileged to attend the American Veteran Awards program in Beverly Hills. There were many awards but it was most special to see Willie Nelson present Kris Kristofferson the Veteran of the Year award, and to see Kris struggle to maintain his composure as he accepted. Kris was an Army helicopter pilot who rose to the rank of Captain. He is also a Rhodes Scholar. He was offered a teaching job at West Point, but turned it down to pursue a writing career. He's now in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.

During the evening, we videotaped greetings to service men and women for the holidays. The recordings will be stored on the AT&T website http://www.ATT.com/mil Military families are encouraged to log on and select a pre-recorded celebrity message that they can send to loved ones who cannot be home for the holidays. The service is free. If you know a military family, please tell them about the service.

You may recall that our latest book, From Book Signing to Best Seller, won an award this year--our first! The Bay Area Independent Publishers Association named it the 2001-2002 Best Writer's Reference Guide. We are now preparing a Second Edition, Revised, and entering it into the Writer's Digest competition. The Revised edition will be available late in December.

Two upcoming events may interest you. One is a weekend retreat in January with Miss USA 1982, Terri Amos. She is the author of Message Sent and a spiritual coach to many. Her meditation CD is also excellent. You are most welcome to join us in Indian Wells, California, over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, January 17-19, 2003. The second event is "My Slice of the Pentagon," which will be presented at the Palmdale Playhouse May 6, 2003, in Palmdale, CA. It is part of their Film and Lecture Series and will present various experiences spanning my nine years in the Pentagon. Films from the plane crash on 9/11 will be included. It struck very near "my slice of the Pentagon."
