Hello,
I'm very busy raising an eight year old grandson who has cerebral palsy and is blind in one eye.
I'm editing several novels and have completed two illustrated poetry books. Currently I'm looking for interested publishers.
Would love to keep in touch with everyone who enjoys my poetry but there is never enough time. If you'd like updates on what's going on, you'll find it here.
Love,
Sandy

(since he is blind, he tells me the words;
I write and arrange them for him)

It's You (written March 28, 2003)
Words by Doogie; arranged by Grandma
It's you who
helps me get by.
It does no
good . . . to sit, cry.
Will you please
tell me stories?
I'm in a tunnel with little light--
unable to move past deep pain--
till I hear the gently falling rain.
I hope I may sometime soon have sight.
It's you who
keeps me hoping.
You're guiding,
I am coping.
Will you please
come play with me?
I can do most ev'rything but see.
Eight, in the third grade, I am a big boy.
I need your hand, love, laughter and joy.
I doing fine so don't pity me.
It's you who
helps me get by.
It will not
help to . . . sit, cry.
Will you please
say you love me?
