Friends and Fellow Travelers:
Each one of our lives, from birth to death, is an adventure. And, each adventure brushes by, touches, stays briefly or adheres longer with countless others' adventures. We are to marvel and be marvelled at, you and I. I'm speaking to you... and to you... and to you... as individuals. At some point, the paths of our adventures crossed. With you, we may have smiled in passing. With you, my dear friend, my wife, my son, my daughter... our paths may have joined to a wider highway. With you I may have stayed but an hour and laughed... with you the hour was spent in tears. With you our paths well may cross again. Have our lessons not been learned well enough? Do we need more time? May this offering be a way -- not the only way, certainly not the best way, perhaps, but a way -- of reaching out... Newsletter Dated: 12/16/2005 5:40:03 PMSubject: Update Dear Friends and Fellow Travelers:
I want to thank you, personally, for a few things: First, you have been so gracious and patient during my transition time where I went from one newsletter format on <http://www.jaysquires.com> to another (and, unfortunately, a less professional and less "jazzy") format on Authorsden. I'm happy to report that only one person unsubscribed, out of about 250 subscribers.
Secondly, I thank each and every one of you who downloaded The Mumph Legacy. As far as I know, there's no way of reckoning, at any one point in time, exactly how many people bought my short story. But, I do know that one week ago today my story started at 104 under the Best Sellers category for All Short Stories. And, in one week it rocketed to 70. (I was going to use an exclamation mark at the end of that sentence, but it made it look like the story deteriorated to 701) So, each and every one of you who helped its launch, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I would love to get into the top 10, so if any of you are intending to buy it but just haven't gotten around to it yet, well… Oh, and, if you already bought it and read it -- and didn't think it was a total waste of your time -- would you (after your pithy review on Amazon.com ) drum up some business with your friends and relatives? I suppose it would be asking too much to have you stand out in front of Target with brochures? Oh... Even if I provide the brochures? Excuse me? What? Sh- Shove my brochures where?
Good bye my friends and fellow travelers. Always upward,
Jay
