Nothing I can say here will be as interesting as my books. I have lived virtually everything described in them, except for the spirit rituals in Brazil. Those are kind of hairy, and while my husband and I lived there we never once considered attending one session. They are usually set in dangerous locations and perilous to blatant newcomers. I researched those rituals in Portuguese. Although I know a lot of spells to cast, I haven't dared use any of them to persuade an editor to buy.

Stone is a sequel to Journey. Meantime, I have a fantasy, A Soochow Story, up on www.GoodGoshAlmighty.com. It's a love story between a man who moves corpses for a living (by ordering them to stand up and follow him to their home villages to be buried. He works cheap.) and a village maiden.
There is also a satirical essay up on www.danaliterary.com for the month of March. It's about borrowing and lending money (or anything for that matter). The piece is witty (if I do say so myself), focused, and has a surprise ending.
