Well, my God the year is almost over. I can't believe it! Hope you've started your Christmas Shopping...and in speaking of which I have a GREAT new book for ya all to just run out and order. It is called "Open Mic Jacksonville", for which I was the Editor and Executive Director. It features over 40 fabulous poets from Northeast Florida (including moi and our own "Bean" - Lauryn Day), even a special appearance and add from Tom "Scruffy" Suarez in the back - so run, run, run out to order it from www.neighborhoodpress.com. They are taking pre-orders NOW!! The cost of the book is $20.00 and all proceeds from the book go to the Literacy Foundation!! It will be available on www.bn.com and www.amazon.com, but probably not until AFTER Christmas!

Ok what else is up for moi....Oh yes....so much to tell, to tell....

On 10/25/02, while at the Florida Writers Convention in Orlando we had the coveted Royal Palm Awards - and you are chatting with the recipient of TWO Royal Palm Awards!

"Passing Thoughts" won 1st place for BEST SHORT STORY BOOK - YEAH!!!

"Living Crazy Like Fly" won 1st runner up for BEST BIOGRAPHY - YEAH!!!

Also kiddies moi is meeting and collaberating now with Lin Meadows, a screenwriter. We are getting "Fly" into shape to see for the big screen hopefully! If not the biggie screen, then at least we are going for Lifetime, HBO, WE and Harpo Productions! How exciting is that??!

Also the re-release of "Fly" will be out in the next few months. I still need permission from a bunch of you to use YOUR PICTURE from the Bunny Hut days, so please give me your ok, ASAP!!!

What other little tidbits of excitement do I have for you...well, some I will save for Christmas, this has already rambled on so, but here is what I am up to for November and watch out for some even BIGGER news in December!!

It's time for the monthly FWA Meeting at the Deerwood Library in Jacksonville. We're doing an open writer's workshop this month, so bring in your questions, concerns, tell us what you need help with and we will be more than glad to get you on the right trail!! Don't forget our special meeting in Mandarin on Saturday!

It's time for class again!! Don't be a TURKEY!! Come before Turkey Day and let's share what we are doing - literary wise anyway! Come knock the "stuffin" out of me and let me hear your great stories, poetry, etc. Entertain me! I love it!!

It's the Premiere Party for "Open Mic Jacksonville" - this gala grand event will be happening at the new and wonderful Neighborhood Net Cafe' - break out the spangles, the sparkles the girdle whatever it takes and get there for the premiere and the poparazzi!!
