Hi, Queens!

No, I haven’t forgotten about you, promise. In fact, I have big, big plans instead. The interesting thing, though, is that big plans require more time and effort! We have a queenly vision of what we want to do at QueenPower.com for you and well, let’s just say we need a little more time before sharing.

SHORT AND SWEET VERSION

In August we’ll start unveiling our plans. We think you’ll be pleased and will find support and benefit. For the longer and of course much more entertaining version of the story, keep reading!

TROUBLE AT THE BORDER

I am adding a new book to my list of recommended reads (which by the way will be posted by the end of this month on QueenPower.com). It’s called “The Energy of Money” by Maria Nemeth.

In the book, she tells us about the difficulties one faces when “jumping from the metaphysical—the world of ideas—into the real-life world of the physical plane."

It’s those difficulties I now face. Like Maria, when she launched her pet project, I am faced with “decisions that aren’t inspiring at all.” I am getting bogged down in the details of creating a plan, putting the pieces together, finding investors, etc., etc. The vision--the inspiring vision--now seems like a whole bunch of work. :(

Maria told us, “When you begin to move an idea from the metaphysical realm into physical reality, you must cross the Border between those two very different worlds. And at the Border, the inspiration and fun of the original idea encounters the energy requirements of physical reality.” She continues to explain to us how traumatic this can be. “It’s like standing on the shore of a beach, enjoying the sunshine, and we’re suddenly hit by a solid wall of ice-cold water.”

And that’s where I find myself. Oh no, this isn’t bad news or a letter of impending doom. Instead it’s to say I’m sitting on the Border waiting to dry off--meaning waiting for all the pieces to come together. Like Maria I understand that eventually things will happen. Eventually all the fragmented pieces will come together and will liftoff launching the new and improved QueenPower.com. Right now we're in the beginning stages--the stages before liftoff--the laborious ones. Maria tells us, “A rocket burns most of its fuel during the first few moments of flight, as it overcomes inertia and the gravitational pull of earth."

Yes, before too long the new version of QueenPower.com will overcome inertia and the grativational pull o of earth and will liftoff when the time is right.

We'll keep you posted. Before too long, you'll find a revamping of the website. Keep checking back.

AND HOW ABOUT A LITTLE FABLE HAVEN

Besides focusing on QueenPower.com, I’ve been dabbling here and there. Yesterday, I took my ten-year-old daughter to the bank (to set up a checking account and order checks) and then to Hastings Bookstore to launch her new business, which she is calling Fable Haven. If you have a Hastings in your community, I highly recommend helping your child start his or her business this way. It will provide an excellent opportunity to teach Addy about managing her money and financial transactions like tithing and saving. Later, I plan to help her learn about investing (once she accumulates enough money).

We do have a ways to go, though. Her first load of merchandise consisting of used books and a CD netted $3.97! The checks she ordered cost $5.00.

Here’s the plan. Addy will collect books from friends and family. Weekly, we’ll take the books to Hastings to sell. The books they refuse, we’ll donate to Friend’s of the Library at our local library. The proceeds from the business will be tithed, saved and used for Addy to buy her own collection of books, CDs, games and other nonessentials.

THE RECOVERY

Remember last time I told you about my experience as a juror.

Well, the essay is finally published and posted on Amazon.com. Incase you missed my first mention of it last month…I served on a meth case in my hometown in January. The essay is about that experience. Here’s what I said to you last month: “The experience—the experience that lasted 4.5 days—left a mark on me. By the end of my week of service, my soul had been scarred. And to make matters worse, I didn’t feel safe in my own home anymore. It took me months to get over it. Months. And I am still processing what happened and why. Thankfully, now I will go days without thinking about my court experience. I am better.”

Yes, I am better. It’s still hard for me to think or talk about. Frankly, I don’t anymore. But the fear and the uneasiness have gone away. I have forgiven myself and all the key players. Even though I have forgiven, I will never forget. I hope my lesson can be a lesson for you.
