I am an obsessive writer who enjoys doing the work of both first and final draft -- and all the rewrites in-between. I have grown into my craft and I still have much more to learn.

But, like many writers, I have reached a spot in the road where I must look outside myself for some of my directions. I have published enough stories to know that I have reached the level above 'wanna-be' writer, and now I have new directions to examine. Part of that process is helped by interaction with readers. So here I am with my very own newsletter. I hope that it will help some of the people who know me find my stories, and

At the moment (Mid-April, 2001) I have three stories up on Ideomancer E-zine (http://ideomancer.com), although one of them will be slipping into the archives around the 15th of April. I am also their 'Author of the Month' at that site, which was a real pleasant surprise for me! The stories are an eclectic bunch -- a fantasy (A Fate Cast in Stones), a SF (Lucky), and a little bit of SF Flash fiction (Aftermath). I rarely write anything this short.

The first story I ever sold is now available in 'As Seen in the Web,' the compilation of the best stories from Jackhammer E-zine. (http://www.eggplant-productions.com/jintsu/boa.asp )

My first novel is also available from Embiid Publishing. I have received some very nice emails on Silky. (http://www.embiid.net/books/books.asp?50560335&P=91&C=0) I hope others enjoy reading it as well! The publisher and I are now working on another, unrelated fantasy novel, Shepherd Boy. The release date has not been listed for that one yet.

And the month of April continued to get better! Holly Lisle's Forward Motion Writer's Community (http://www.hollylisle.com/fm), where I am a Moderator, was named one of the top 101 web sites for writers by Writer's Digest Magazine!

I also sold two new stories in early April, for a total of eight sales this year, and twenty since my first sale in July, 1999.

All in all, not a bad start to the year!
